Adjunct Instructor, Plumbing
Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their Adult Education Adjunct Instructor Youth Build position, in the Student and Academic Affairs division. This position is located at ATC’s (Main Campus), which is just south of Downtown Atlanta.
Under the general supervision of the Dean of Industrial and Transportation Technology:1) Assist with development and review of program and syllabi, goals and objectives according to approved curriculum and course syllabi standards. 2) Evaluate and review students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. 3) Advise and counsel students and maintain appropriate advisement records on each student. 4) Demonstrate and insure the use of appropriate and effective teaching techniques, testing and grading procedures (including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping requirements). 5) Display excellent oral and written communication skills. 6) Maintain and review classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and lab management plans. 7) Maintain and review program certification requirements, as appropriate. 8) Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports. 9) Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. 10) Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts. 11) Demonstrate knowledge of current practices in Plumbing Technology and related fields. 12) Follows and enforces rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution. Applicant must be able to select and assess student learning outcomes, foster effective learning in both classroom and lab settings, and promote good public relations via contacts and regular communications with business, industry, and the public sector.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified/ Licensed in residential or commercial plumbing/pipefitting. Or completion of an equivalent military or company-sponsored training program, or an approved apprenticeship program. Must have at least five years proven work experience as a residential or commercial plumber, working in the different phases of plumbing in the industry within the past five years. Must demonstrate effective communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
College diploma in plumbing/ pipefitting
Certified License Plumber or Journeyman Level Plumber (5 yrs. work experience thru a training Program)
