Maintenance Labor Temporary (MLT)- Statewide

Duties & Responsibilities: Under close supervision, learns to assist in a variety of transportation maintenance services. Training will be provided in the area of assignment (Routine Maintenance, Areawide, Maintenance, Special Outfits, or Mechanic Shop) to gain full proficiency in some or all of the job responsibilities. 

There are multiple positions available statewide.
 
Selected applicants will undergo a criminal background, reference check and a pre-employment drug screening.
 
Agency Specific Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must possess high school diploma or GED
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated training and/or experience to perform essential job functions in maintenance of roadway activities
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 6 months of employment
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to lift moderately heavy objects, bend, climb, stand, or walk for long periods of time; possess accurate eye-hand coordination
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations with work plans and work schedules due to workload or season Display a high standard of work ethic and commitment toward work

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in performing various roadway/highway maintenance activities (e.g., concrete, bridge, asphalt, and/or signage)
  • Demonstrated experience operating heavy equipment
  • Demonstrated experience in traffic control and flagging duties
