Mechanic 3 (Landscape)
Position Description: Under broad supervision, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs/rebuilds gasoline and/or diesel-powered small engines and other motorized equipment with a focus on the repair and maintenance of small engines and landscape equipment.
Minimum Qualifications (Agency Specific): Associate’s, vocational, or technical degree in area of assignment from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of experience in the area of assignment OR three (3) years of experience in area of assignment OR one (1) year of experience at the lower level Mechanic 2 (FET061) or position equivalent. Must have a valid Georgia’s Driver’s License and meet the agency’s requirements to be an authorized driver. Must meet the agency’s requirements to become a Purchasing Card (P-Card) holder.
Competencies: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work at all levels, including a culturally diverse general public, with a focus on quality service to internal and external customers; Ability to follow oral and written directions; Ability to effectively manage time to complete assignments in a timely fashion; Knowledge of, and ability to follow procedures as outlined in the Statewide Purchasing Policy.
Travel: this position requires frequent travel in and around the Capitol Hill area. Other travel may be required infrequently.
