DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Under general supervision of the Director of Operations, this position is responsible for matters and program monitoring related to The Georgia Department of Agriculture, Licensing Division. The Director of Licensing oversees programs of regulatory licensing in a variety of areas

  • Directs administrative components as well as leading the Licensing Division/Call Center team which includes planning, documenting, testing and implementing program.
  • Works with Operation Divisions and Finance Office to manage budgets and streamline costs.
  • Serves as project manager of software vendor to ensure implementation and delivery of online license program.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for assigned area (GDA Call Center and Licensing Division)
  • Develops, proposes laws, regulations, and legislation in program area.
  • Performs investigations, accountability audits, and other such duties related to alleged violations of all applicable statutes, standards, rules, and regulations;


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of management experience in the area of assignment OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of management experience in the area of assignment OR Eight years of experience in the area of assignment.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:   Preference will be given to applicants, who, in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, possess knowledge, skills and abilities in the following areas:

 

  • Excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and strong project management abilities.

  • Knowledge of programs administered by the GDA Licensing Division

  • Knowledge of daily operations for a call center (call center, processing/collection of fees)

  • Working knowledge or experience with GDA’s regulatory operations.
