Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) provides a variety of individual services to persons with disabilities in preparation for their employment in the competitive labor market and to employers seeking to retain valuable employees with disabilities or hire qualified individuals for their workforce.

OVERALL SUMMARY: The Employment Consultant (EC) reports to the Business Development Manager and is part of the Business Development Team. This position serves two customers, Job Seekers with disabilities and Employers. The goal of the team is to successfully assist the candidate in obtaining employment, and for the employer to obtain a qualified employee.

This position requires 75% travel throughout an assigned quadrant.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the disabilities and unique employments needs of job seekers with disabilities in his/her talent pool.
  • Reports progress of job development efforts on a weekly basis by completing the weekly production report.
  • Responsible for meeting and established monthly placement goal
  • Conducts random lead generation calls in order to identify prospective employers placement model.
  • Conducts targeted job development activities based on leads generated by calls, face to face meeting and/or other sources guiding this search based on the candidates needing employment.
  • Conducts employer needs analysis in order to understand the employer’s need and to be able to massage the job opportunity to benefit the candidates.
  • Proposes candidates with the skills/abilities previously identified by the employer.
  • Provides job retention services to the employers, such as, on site follow-up and monitoring of candidates performance, coordination of counseling and guidance services by the placement team, request of AWT services, etc.
  • Contacts employers on an ongoing basis over the phone and/or face to face in
  • order to inquire about upcoming job opportunities.
  • Develops and maintain business relationships/accounts as demonstrated by the ability to successfully place multiple candidates with the same employers, i.e.
  • “Repeat Business”.
  • Educates the Client Management & Business Development teams on market trends, job openings, and identified employer needs.
  • Maintains constant communication with client/ counselor in order to provide candidate with the appropriate support prior to placement.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR Two years of experience at the lower level Employment Svcs Spec 2 (SSP091) or position equivalent.
