Financial Aid Coordinator-Banner Specialist

The Financial Aid Coordinator will report to the Director of Financial Aid, and will be responsible for assisting in the administering the College’s federal and state financial aid programs. Maintains Banner financial aid database. Ensures Financial Aid upgrades are completed and tested in a timely manner. Disburse financial aid awards to student accounts. Train financial aid staff on Banner functionality. Write reports as needed using Banner and SQL. Run HOPE calculations; Load GSFAPP applications from SURFER. Process all letter generation and email notifications to students concerning missing documents as well as annual set-up and maintenance of the Banner Financial Aid system. Electronically download student financial aid application into Banner. Responsible for completing yearly reporting requirements to federal and state financial aid regulatory agencies. Complete satisfactory academic progress end of term processing Troubleshoots Banner Financial Aid issues for the department.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and Two (2) years of related work experience or experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skilled in decision making and problem solving; excellent oral and written communications skills. Exceptional customer service skills.
