Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified
applicants for their Associate Degree Nursing-OB, Pediatrics, Medical Surgical Instructor position,
in the Student and Academic Affairs division.
This position is located at ATC’s (Main Campus), which is just south of
Downtown Atlanta/Hartsfield-Jackson Airport.
Prepares and delivers quality curriculum with
daily instruction of students in the classroom & clinical settings. Under general supervision, demonstrates the
use of appropriate teaching techniques.
Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures,
including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate
record-keeping requirements.
Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills,
and knowledge of current procedures in the Nursing field. Follows approved curriculum standards and
course syllabi. Monitors student use of
supplies, materials, and equipment.
Advises and counsels students, and maintains appropriate advisement
records on each student. Maintains
classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and lab
management plans. Attends meetings as
required. Observes and enforces the
institution’s policies and regulations.
Assists with student recruitment and job placement. Serves on committees. Maintains qualifications for employment as
described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and accreditation
standards. Follows rules and regulations
as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and other
policies and procedures established by the institution. Assists in the development
of reports and other requirements for the Georgia Board of Nursing.
Minimum Qualifications
A Master's degree in Nursing (MSN), A
Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN),
Demonstrates strong knowledge of Microsoft
Office products. Strong oral and written communication skills, organization and
planning skills. Excellent interpersonal
and teamwork skills. Certifications/Licenses: Georgia
State Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Good Standing. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification by American
Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
A
Doctoral Degree in Nursing or Education (DNP, PhD or EdD). Two years of full-time work experience in
Medical Surgical and/or Mother/Baby unit. A minimum of one year full-time
teaching in an Associate Degree Nursing or Bachelor of Science Degree in
Nursing. Demonstrates strong knowledge of Microsoft
Office products. Strong oral and written
communication skills, organization and planning skills. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Work Schedule=Flexible work schedule (40 hour week)
(10 month annually - July 15-May 15)
