Plans and assists with custody and security of youth in DJJ custody. May develop and implement security policies and procedures. Directs subordinate supervisors and staff.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:
• May develop and implement security and control of contraband policies and procedures. Oversees the transfer of youth from one facility to another. • Supervises assigned correctional staff and ensures conformity with department and facility security policies and procedures and implements emergency plans and procedures. Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges corrections employees. • Coordinates youth activities and headcount procedures. • Assures that law and order are maintained and that the laws, policies, rules and regulations are enforced to prevent crimes and to protect lives and property.
