Job Summary:


Mechanical Engineer: Under general supervision, evaluates and reviews designs, drawings and specifications for new buildings, other structures and renovation projects. Serves as a point of contact for construction projects for applicable state building codes, local and federal laws. This position also performs other related duties as assigned.



Senior Mechanical Engineer: Under broad supervision, evaluates and reviews designs, drawings and specifications for new buildings, other structures and renovation projects. Serves as a point of contact for construction projects for applicable state building codes, local and federal laws. This position also performs other related duties as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications:


Mechanical Engineer: Completion of an undergraduate degree in the Mechanical Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university AND four (4) years of experience in mechanical design, construction document preparation and review, building/fire codes analysis and implementation, and/or construction administration. Must have an active Professional Engineer (PE) License as a Mechanical Engineer in the State of Georgia, OR, if PE License in Mechanical Engineering is currently active in another state, it must be active in the State of Georgia within one (1) year of date of hire. Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel statewide.


Senior Mechanical Engineer Completion of an undergraduate degree in the Mechanical Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university AND eight (8) years of experience in mechanical design, construction document preparation and review, building/fire codes analysis and implementation, and/or construction administration. Must have an active Professional Engineer (PE) License as a Mechanical Engineer in the State of Georgia, OR, if PE License in Mechanical Engineering is currently active in another state, it must be active in the State of Georgia within one (1) year of date of hire. Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel statewide.


Preferred Qualifications for


Mechanical Engineer AND Senior Mechanical Engineer:


Plan review experience for a local municipality or state government. Experience coordinating professional engineering staff. Experience as a commissioning agent/authority. Experience programming or trouble-shooting BAS (Building automation systems) and coordinating their proper operation and interface with HVAC equipment.


Experience as a facility manager or working with facility managers during design, construction or project turn-over and occupancy. Experience as an Owner’s representative during project design, construction or project turn-over and occupancy.
