Ground Transp Worker 1
Under direct supervision transports passengers and/or mail and materials in an assigned geographical area traveling by automobile, van or public conveyance. Learns to transmit, receive, and relay radio communication among remote office base stations and mobile units. Transports passengers to hospitals, clinics, social functions, and/or other activities according to established guidelines and time frames. Performs routine vehicle maintenance. Obtains signatures and payments, or arranges for recipients to make payments. Inspects vehicles for proper operating condition Checks fluid levels, tire pressure, and lights. Checks with home offices after completed deliveries, in order to confirm deliveries and collections and to receive instructions for other deliveries. Assists in loading and unloading passengers, packages, goods and materials
High school diploma or GED AND ability to operate heavy equipment and large vehicles such as bulldozers, frontend loaders, ditchers, road graders, dump trucks, drilling equipment and heavy duty trucks AND valid driver's license with clean motor vehicle report.
