View Point Health is a community behavioral health center utilizing a team of psychiatrists, nurses, licensed counselors and social workers, as well as other professionals to provide services to individuals who need treatment and support to cope with mental illness, substance abuse, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. View Point Health serves uninsured, underinsured, low-income Medicaid, Medicare, war veterans and some private insurance across multiple locations with a full continuum of behavioral health services and supports. The services provided by View Point Health contribute to the reduction in homelessness, reduction in crime and subsequent incarcerations, higher graduation rates, lower dropout rates, decreased ER visits and decreased inpatient admissions.

 

Services are client-centered, trauma informed and recovery-focused including behavioral health assessment, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, group and individual therapy, family therapy, peer support, psychosocial rehabilitation, assertive community treatment, community based case management, high fidelity wrap around, housing, supported employment, court services, crisis intervention, on-site pharmacy services, rehabilitation services, brief residential crisis stabilization services, short-term substance abuse residential treatment as well as developmental disability day services and group homes.

 

Program Description:

Community CARE is considered View Point Health’s “sixth” clinic that provides “out-of-clinic” behavioral healthcare services in the Metro Atlanta area. The Community CARE program is comprised of four elements:

 
  • Counseling- Community CARE team will provide assessments, individual, family, and group counseling, and bill “out of clinic” for these services
  • Autism- Community CARE team will provide autism services in the home and/or school. The Heritage Center Autism office (3rd floor) will still be utilized for various services, but most of the care will be provided in the community. The program will serve individuals between 3-20 years of age providing Applied Behavior Analysis therapy, crisis behavior reduction, and wrap around services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families.
  • Restoration- Community CARE team will provide resource development; assessments; transition planning; crisis and safety planning and other service delivery linkage.
  • Empowerment-Community CARE team will provide assessments, self-sufficiency training and various services for the purpose of empowering the individual and/or family for their next life transition.
 

Staff will be issued laptops, cellphones, and wireless internet access and are expected to work in the community the majority of their time.

 
BCBA Role:

The primary function of the Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) is to plan, develop, and monitor a variety of behavioral support service delivery options to meet the needs of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges. The BCBA also consults with and teaches instructional team members regarding pro-active, educational, programming, and behavioral supports; develops and implements comprehensive treatment plans; and collaborates with team members, related services providers, families, and other agencies as appropriate. The BCBA manages the Community CARE Autism Team and provides ongoing training and direct supervision to RBTs and other team members. The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is to provide services in the home, school, and community. This includes the development and implementation of treatment plans addressing communication, behavior, feeding, ADLs and social skills. The BCBA will also monitor the progress of a treatment plan and work closely with the RBT and others to update the treatment plan as necessary. The BCBA will adhere to ongoing review and measurement of program and service applications to comply with regulations, policies, procedures and standards set by the Agency and the Georgia Department of Behavior Health & Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD). The BCBA will provide supervision and guidance to an RBT to implement behavior interventions for individuals with ASD, some of whom will have co-occurring IDD/BH diagnoses (mental illnesses).

 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide regular supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) that meets the current BACB supervision requirements
  • Conduct initial Functional Behavior Assessments, reassessments, behavior reduction programs, and skill-based programs to diminish the triggering crisis behaviors
  • Design skill acquisition protocols inclusive of developing communication, independence, social skills, and adaptive behaviors (*necessary to diminish the triggering crisis behaviors*)
  • Provide parental training to ensure consistency of treatment after discharge
  • Use appropriate assessment instruments and data to develop and implement teaching programs that reflect behavioral and other outcomes and objectives identified in the Individual Family Support Plan (IFSP). Ensure the implementation of treatment plans, document contacts and observations; use professional knowledge and independent judgment to strategize continuous improvements.
  • Establish and maintain data measurement, collection, and analysis systems for clients receiving behavioral interventions. Maintain appropriate documentation and prepare and complete reports as required.
  • Ensure that all treatment plans and programs comply with contract requirements, satisfy all relevant insurance certification and other expectations, and meet or exceed professional standards. Maintain highly organized, consistent, thorough, and systematic recordkeeping practices.
  • Seek creative options for ensuring the continuity and consistency of treatment and support services across settings for the lifespan of the client. Develop strategies for the stability of quality services when clients experience transitions.
  • Conduct structured periodic service reviews to monitor the effectiveness of treatment programs and their implementation; modify and document plan changes as needed.
  • Provide staff development, training, and modeling for team members in strategies and methodologies for working with children on the autism spectrum and/or clients who have behavioral, adaptive, and/or social/communication challenges. Conduct in-service training, workshops, and presentations to develop skills and establish consistent practices across STEP programs of service. Provide consultation regarding crisis interventions and critical incident supports.
  • Participate in Individual Education Program (IEP) team meetings for clients as appropriate.
  • Promote positive public relations, facilitate interagency collaboration, and advocate for the establishment and maintenance of comprehensive services.
  • Participate in professional growth activities such as conferences, classes, team meetings and program visitations.
  • Accept all other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Follows the processes of Community C.A.R.E.
 

Essential Requirements:

  • Follow the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts
  • Maintain good standing and certification status with the BACB
  • Comply with organization, state and federal regulations set forth to include professional development, safety training, and confidentiality policies as required by DBHDD
  • Participate in all team meetings and company-wide trainings as designated by manager and organization
  • Work collaboratively with RBTs, Clinicians, and VPH staff in order to ensure consistency of intervention across settings
  • Ensure the approach to the program helps meet the physical, social, and emotional needs of clients served while maximizing team collaboration, cooperation, and service integration across disciplines as well as the organization
 
Job Requirements:
  • Must be currently certified as Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Master’s degree or PHD in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education or related field
  • Great communication skills (oral and written)
  • 2 years’ experience ABA Therapy
  • Experience with severe and challenging behaviors
  • 3 years’ experience supervising staff
  • Experience with severe and challenging behaviors
  • Travel in all Region 3 and transport individuals when needed
  • Perform other discipline duties when appropriate and needed
 
Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience.

 

Preferred Qualification:

  • 1-2 years of experience with Mental Health/Crisis Stabilization/Hospitalization
  • At least 1 year experience with dually diagnosed individuals (I/DD population, comorbidities)
  • 1-3 years of experience with supervision of RBT staff


Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience.
