Agriculture Inspector 1
This position inspects
live plant growers and dealers (sod farms, nurseries, tree farms, etc.) to
ensure compliance with state regulations and proper maintenance of plants. This
position has responsibility inspecting the Plant Protection Section special
programs which includes apiary (bee) inspection, verification of compliance
agreements and certification of plants or plant material for interstate and
international export. Inspections for state and federal phytosanitary
certificates are performed as requested. Incumbents in this
job must work outdoors in varied terrain for extended periods of time. May be
responsible for providing transportation to work sites. This job requires
travel.
Vocational/Technical degree in agriculture, horticulture, environmental science, pest control, entomology or a closely related field from an accredited college OR High school diploma or GED AND One year of experience in the area of assignment OR Two years of college, which included 12 semester hours or 20 quarter hours in chemistry or life sciences.
