The Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Division provides a variety of individual services to persons with disabilities in preparation for their employment in the competitive labor market and to employers seeking to retain valuable employees with disabilities or hire qualified individuals for their workforce. 

We are currently seeking Certified Rehabilitation Counselors throughout the state of Georgia to evaluate, authorize and coordinate vocational counseling activities and services for our clients. This position assists eligible clients in preparing for, obtaining, and/or maintaining employment, and counsels with employers concerning their special needs. Cultivates and coordinates community and agency resources in advancement of this vocational goal and to ensure the provision of quality services to our clients.

Certified Rehab Counselor Certification is required for this position. If you do not have the certification, you will be hired as a career specialist.

You qualify for the position of Career Specialist if you possess the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in a human service field, counseling or special education `and 2 years of related experience working directly with individuals with disabilities. (Note: Completion of Master’s degree in a human service field, counseling, or special education or closely related field will count as one year of experience.  Also, the successful completion of a counselor internship will count as one year of experience.) 
• Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience about disability programs and policies to include vocational rehabilitation, special education, career and technical education and career pathways.
• Demonstrated ability to train and present to stakeholders at various levels
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Note: As a condition of employment with Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency, you must successfully complete a mandatory federal and national background check, Pre-employment testing, and additional checks required for your job.

You qualify for the position of Certified Rehabilitation Counselor if you possess the following:

• Current certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification
