The Georgia Department of Labor is currently seeking highly qualified applicants to fill Field Tax Auditor position. This position will be located in Downtown Atlanta.
As a Field Tax Auditor, you will work under general supervision and audits, examines and analyzes accounting records to determine the financial condition or compliance with tax code of an assigned organization or program.
Other job duties are as follows:
In a learning capacity, prepares financial reports concerning operating procedures.
Reviews and examines contracts, tax reports, ledgers or other financial or performance-related records to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud or noncompliance with applicable laws or regulations.
Prepares or assists in the preparation of reports (i.e. case reports, audit findings, asset utilization, recommended changes in operations or financial activities).
Prepares and maintains databases, evidence, files and confidential documents.
Inspects account books and accounting or financial computer systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions.
Conducts auditing of establishments, and determines scope of investigation required.
Completes selected portions of audits as part of an audit team, or may complete routine audits.
Compiles and documents background information, prepares analyses or correspondence, and/or calculates obligations, penalties, or monies owed.

Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university OR Three years of experience in a related area.
