Attorneys in this section provide advice and representation
to the University System of Georgia, the Technical College System of Georgia,
the Department of Education, the Secretary of State’s Election Division, the
State Election Board, the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance
Commission, the Immigration Enforcement Review Board, the Public Defenders
Council, the Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission, the Office of Bar
Admissions, and the State Charter Schools Commission. The section houses
the Attorney General’s Open Government Mediation program. Attorneys in
the section also provide representation to the state’s judicial branch in non-monetary
actions brought against appellate or superior court judges.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
May prosecute fraud and corruption involving the State of Georgia’s departments and agencies, including those committing crimes against the state; May prosecute identity fraud, residential mortgage fraud, and securities fraud

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited law school and Member of the Georgia Bar
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who possess one or more items below:
Experience in drafting and arguing dispositive motions in
state court
Experience in drafting appellate briefs
Experience in federal civil rights litigation
A working knowledge of federal election law
A working knowledge of the requirements of the
Administrative Procedure Act
Experience litigating in administrative hearings
Additional Information:
