State Level Position

Location: Southern Judicial Circuit (Circuit-wide with Valdosta office)

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Deadline: August 31, 2019 or until position is filled

Job Description and Requirements:

Assistant Public Defender I

The Southern Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office is seeking to hire an Assistant Public Defender I for Juvenile Court cases in all of our counties, to include Brooks, Colquitt, Echols, Lowndes, and Thomas County. Primary duties include representing juvenile clients with cases in Juvenile Court. Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for the position. Applicants must be a current member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia. A strong commitment to indigent defense is also required. Although interviews will be scheduled as soon as possible, the current deadline for submission is August 31, 2019 or until the position is filled. Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university AND license to practice law in the State of Georgia OR eligibility to sit for the next Georgia Bar examination OR reciprocity (must obtain Law License). Note: Some positions may not allow the eligibility clause.
