Savannah Technical
College is seeking a Campus Shop Operations Manager. This position will manage
the day-to-day operation of a technical college student focused college
bookstore with multiple locations serving Savannah Technical College.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
· coordinating and monitoring daily work
schedules for bookstore staff to ensure adequate staffing levels during peak
times;
· supervising the daily collection and balancing
of point of sale receipts from all bookstore sales;
· ordering supplies and merchandise, by
following established procedures for procurement;
· conducting physical inventory of merchandise,
supplies, and other items for sale;
· monitoring shrinkage and implementing
appropriate safeguards to reduce as necessary;
· contributing
to the development, review, revision, interpretation and/or implementation of
campus shop policies and procedures;
· completing/maintaining
required documentation and reports;
· evaluating services provided and makes
adjustments as needed;
· maintaining strong working relationships with
STC faculty, staff, and vendors;
· providing an excellent customer service
experience for the students at STC;
· monitoring the activities of personnel to
ensure compliance with STC/TCSG policy manuals and campus shop procedures;
· evaluating employee performance at scheduled
intervals upon reviewing all relevant information;
**Must work a flexible schedule during high volume “RUSH”
periods, which may include early morning and/or evening hours.**
Minimum Qualifications
· Associate
Degree in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, or Marketing *AND* One (1)
year of work experience in a retail setting, which included one or more the
following duties: inventory, ordering and receiving, stocking and/or
correspondence with vendors.
· Note:
Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s
degree.
· Two
to four (2-4) years of demonstrated supervisory experience in retail sales.
· Management
experience in the college store environment strongly preferred.
· Experience
in the use of a point of sale system and inventory.
· Experience
in general retail practices, marketing and merchandise planning.
· Proficient
in the use of Banner, WinPRISM, Peoplesoft, and the Microsoft Office suite.
· Working
knowledge of the Technical College System of Georgia.
· Excellent organizational and customer service skills to work professionally with Savannah Technical College’s employees, students, and vendors.
Physical Demands
Work
is typically performed in the college bookstore environment, which may require
sitting at a desk, standing for extended periods, reaching, bending or
stooping. The employee must be able to
lift and carry up to 50 pounds routinely, climb, stand for extended periods of
time, reach, bend, and stoop. Full range of hand and finger motion may be
utilized for data entry purposes.
Salary/Benefits
Salary
is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual
and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Benefits package.
