Building Safety Spec 3
Under broad supervision, provides technical assistance, inspection, certification, and licensure of facilities to ensure compliance with regulations and laws governing health, quality, and safety. May serve as lead worker.
Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision. Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas. May supervise and/or direct the work of others. Applies construction knowledge to ensure that projects are monitored according to plans and specifications. Coordinates inspections of construction projects. Issues and monitors the licensing/certification of facilities regulated by the state. Performs site inspections of properties to identify compliance/non-compliance with regulations and requirements. Plans and organizes the compliance audit according to the facility's services, size, and compliance history. Provides analysis of rates and tariffs, regulatory compliance and certification. Provides interpretation of codes and methods of code compliance. Reviews program projects for compliance with applicable regulations and requirements. Plans, organizes and supervises field inspections. Evaluates, reports, and documents bridge maintenance needs
High school diploma or GED AND Four years of experience in a field closely related to the area of assignment OR One year of experience required at the lower level Building Safety Spec 2 (RCP051) or position equivalent AND meet National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) qualifications.
