Part Time/Adjunct Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management Instructor
Savannah Technical College is seeking a part
time/adjunct HRTM instructor. This individual is responsible for teaching
students in classrooms and various instructional administrative duties
including beginning, mid-term and ending reporting. The instructor will also be
required to become proficient in Blackboard and help build course templates.
The instructor will teach approximately 18 contact hours with the remaining
time interacting with students, working with the local hospitality industry and
performing other duties as required by the Department Head. The successful
candidate will have high energy, have great initiative and have a documented
successful career in this industry. The
successful candidate must be willing to work teaching shifts that might require
split teaching dates, and/or multiple campuses.
Qualifications
· Must
possess a Bachelor’s Degree in the Hospitality field or another closely related
field.
· Master’s
Degree in Hospitality or Business Administration is preferred.
· Strong
background in the hospitality career field including a documented record of
career success. A minimum of three to five consecutive years in this field of
work at the supervisory level is required.
· Must
possess strong communication skills and demonstrate a sincere desire to work in
education.
· Must
have a valid driver’s license and insurability.
· Must
be a positive team player and be able to follow as well as lead.
· Successful
experience as a Manager in the industry is preferred but not mandatory.

Physical
Demands
Responsibilities are typically performed in a
classroom environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking,
or bending for up to three (3) – four (4) continuous hours at a time. The employee occasionally pushes,
pulls, lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight. Full range of hand
and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.
Salary/Benefits
Salary
is commensurate with education and work experience.
