Under minimal supervision of the President of the college, this individual plans, administers and evaluates economic development services to include supervision and leadership in the activities of personnel as related to economic development. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

·      Assists community leaders in the recruitment of new and the expansion of existing business and industry within the service area.

·      Develops partnerships with businesses, industries, agencies, schools, and other community stakeholder organizations to make community and economic development programs accessible.

·      Promotes, develops, provides instruction and/or administers professional development and pre-employment training programs at the college and in industry settings.

·     Conducts industry job and training analysis; develops training plans and designs  performance-based training.

·      Conducts regular evaluation of services provided and make adjustments as needed;

·      Participates in the college’s strategic planning, institutional effectiveness, and accreditation processes;

·      Responsible for maintaining the division budget;

·      Supervises and directs the Business & Industry, Professional Continuing Education and various other grant-funded operational units. 

·     Monitors the activities of personnel to ensure compliance with TCSG policies and procedures.

·     Evaluates employees at scheduled intervals upon reviewing of all relevant information.

·     Responsible for the general operation of the Crossroads Technology Campus.

·     Assists with the development of policies and procedures and recommends changes to effectively meet division and college goals/requirements.

 

Minimum Qualifications

·      Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in personnel services, public administration, business administration, industry, engineering, government, or a closely related field *and* seven (7) years full-time related work experience.   (OR) 

·      Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in personnel services, public administration, business administration, industry, engineering, government or, a closely related field *and* three (3) years full-time related work experience.


Preferred Qualifications (In addition to the minimum qualifications)

·      Five (5) or more years of senior leadership experience in a Technical College System of Georgia Economic Development department and/or state or local Economic Development/Industrial Development Agency.


Physical Demands
Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting or walking in various settings. Must frequently lift and carry lightweight objects. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.


Salary/Benefits

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
